Barnes Primary Produce a London Boys Champion

Eamon Brennan – 12th May 2016

A wonderful season for Barnes Primary was capped off when Barnes top boy, Joseph Durling, won the Jack Petchey Under11 London Schools Championships at the UEA at the end of the season.

This was fully deserved after Joseph had led the boys to the bronze medal at the National School Team Championships earlier in the year. The Barnes girls, brilliantly led by Jaikalin, and Molly, and ably supported by Nicole and Ellie, went one better, taking the silver medal and missing out on the gold by a 5-3 margin in the final against their friends and fierce rivals at Fox Primary.

The Barnes girls have now won bronze and silver in consecutive years and will be looking to be among the medal winners again in the near future with Jaikalin returning to Barnes to help coordinate the girls’ training sessions.
