End of an Era at Chelsea Academy
Central London Individual Championships: Fox and Ashburnham dominate.
Jon Kaufmann – 13th May 2016Rose Bourdier, from Fox Primary, took the gold medal in the Under 11 girls’ event while Ashburnham’s Harry Derecki did the same in the Under 11 boy’ category.
Running parallel to the English Schools team competition is the ESTTA Individual Championships and once again Fox and Ashburnham Primary schools were in the ascendancy.
Rose Bourdier, from Fox Primary, won the gold medal in the Under 11 girls’ event and will now go straight through to the National finals in April while fellow students Nadia, Valentina and Louise all qualified for the Jack Petchey London Finals in June. In the boys Under 11 event, Harry Derecki was crowned Central London Champion with fellow Ashburnham team-mate Abed Rahman taking the silver medal.
All attention now turns to Bournemouth, where on the 19th March the Fox Girls and Ashburnham Boys will seek to extend their winning run by becoming South of England Champions.
