End of an Era at Chelsea Academy
Topspin Sports – a New Partner for West London Ping
Jon Kaufmann – 28th January 2018In an exciting new partnership, Topspin Sports and West London Ping have teamed up to promote grassroots table tennis across the capital. Topspin, one of the most forward-looking table tennis suppliers in the country, has agreed to supply high quality starter bats for the growing army of young table tennis players regularly joining the ranks of West London Ping.
It’s a win-win situation for all concerned. New players start their table tennis careers with good quality equipment. Top Spin expand their presence into new areas of the capital and West London table tennis gain another excellent partner for Ping. We recommend that if you require good quality table tennis equipment at very competitive rates, just visit Topspin Sports online to see what they have to offer.
Topspin Sports joins a growing list of partners for West London Ping. Top of the list is of course Epic Sports, who represent and promote the Royal Borough of Kensington’s sporting interests. They have been a highly consistent and enthusiastic supporter of table tennis in the borough and beyond for many years. They have unflinchingly supported our coaching and tournament activities, dating back to the emergence of West London Ping when it was still a part of the London Progress community programme based at the old Kensington Leisure Centre.
Right up there in equal importance with Epic Sports is our special and growing partnership with the London Table Tennis Academy and their extensive coaching and tournament operations run by the London Academy Table Tennis Club. It is at the London Academy, under the highly dynamic management of Bhavin Savjani, that we jointly host the very successful National Junior League where nearly two hundred youngsters regularly compete for official and unofficial honours.
Other longstanding partners include the Chelsea Academy and a growing cluster of primary schools which includes Ashburnham Community School, part of the rapidly expanding Fox/Ashburnham Federation; the William Hogarth School in Chiswick who now boast their very own successful community session; and the highly motivated and successful Barnes Primary School just south of the river. The students from all these schools, both present and former, have fanned out across West London, joining established clubs, setting up their own clubs/coaching groups, and are even representing local leagues and counties. That is precisely the aim of West London Ping. However, without the support and cooperation of the above-mentioned schools and organisations this process would grind to a halt.
Finally, a big thank you to the Chelsea and Worlds End Big Local and to the K&C City Living fund for their financial support for our ongoing coaching programmes. The funding is being specifically used to develop the conveyor belt of young players between Ashburnham Primary and the Chelsea Academy. Your help is greatly appreciated.
Every student that falls in love with table tennis is actively developing both sporting and social skills that can stand them in good stead for the rest of their lives. So, to our growing list of sponsors and partners, we thank you for helping to make this happen.
