End of an Era at Chelsea Academy
Weekly Report – Friday 11th November
Jon Kaufmann – 17th November 2016UCS from Hampstead sprung a surprise victory in the Under 13’s ESTTA Central London qualifying event last Friday. In a very closely fought battle, the USC team overcame tournament favourites, Ernest Bevin College, to reach the Jack Petchey finals in January.
It was a great competition, with five teams battling it out for honours. Ernest Bevin will be recommended to proceed to the next round as a very close second placed team. The girls from Bishop Thomas Grant School, based in Lambeth also qualified for the finals.
This week sees the U16 & U19’s in action, with Ernest Bevin once again the Under 16 tournament favourites, although Holland Park Academy may give them a good run for their money. And no one should under-estimate Daniel Basterfield and his team from Sacred Heart School from Camberwell in South East London.
Chelsea Academy will be hoping to proceed to the next round from the U19 event although they will no doubt be up against a very strong Ernest Bevin team.
Please note that there will be no community session this week due to the large tournament entry.
Best Regards to all JK
