Weekly Report – Friday 30th September

Jon Kaufmann – 3rd October 2016

Another lively Friday evening session at the Chelsea Academy, with the highlight being an excellent coaching session by newly qualified coach, Jacques Vander.

Working with two of the Ashburnham team members, Jacques was able to motivate these promising youngsters to delivering their best training performance so far. The concentration and footwork were superb from both Uwab and Freece, with the end result being a series of consistent high quality forehand top spins by both players. It looks like Jacques is going to be in high demand over the coming months.

Meanwhile on the regular Friday evening Top Table great performances were put in from five of our up and coming young players: Ed and Mohammed from Barnes, William and Mo from Ashburnham and Khalid formerly of William Hogarth. Also of note was the solid performance from the rapidly improving Chelsea Academy NJL squad. Well done to Samuel OB, Samuel M, Theo and Harry, Ayub, Shahi and Enzana. I would not be surprised to see another NJL promotion from the Chelsea lads this season.

I should also add that Ashburnham captain, Harry D, continues to dominate the top of the top table, and looks well set to be among the big cash prize winners at the end of the season. A successful set of results this year might well see Harry forcing his way into the National Under 13 squad. Keep working H.
