Weekly Report – Friday 7th October

Jon Kaufmann – 12th October 2016

As the tournament season starts to approach, I am pleased to report that the West London Ping coaching team is now fully in place. And what a brilliant job they are doing.

Jacques, Parsa, Kingsley, Ghassan and Brandon, ably assisted by Eamon and JK, are now in an excellent position to create the next generation of West London young table tennis stars. And it looks like it’s going to be a bumper crop.

With Alex Ahl off and running with his Irish international career, and Federica Bonato firmly established on the tournament circuit, it is down to Harry, William, Mohammed, Zayne, Uwab, Hadil, Nyah and Abdurahman from Ashburnham; Ed, Trishton, Mohammed, Qais, Cameron, Riva, Annie, Lauren, Pippa and Hannah from Barnes; and the huge and rapidly improving squad of Chelsea Academy players to step forward and fill the top spots. Special mention should also go to Francesco from Fox and Khalid from Hounslow for their brilliant efforts recently. Once Fox Primary has completed its building programme, we can expect a fresh influx of Fox talent to re-join the action.

The West London Ping ranking list will be published in a few weeks and already the numbers are heading towards the hundred mark. The list is only a rough guide and will be amended each month to take account of NJL and other tournament results If you think you should be higher on the ranking list just come down to Chelsea Academy and let your bat do the talking. first tournament of the season is on the 4th of November for the Under 11 Primary School teams. The usual Friday evening top table will still run as usual on that night.
